What you need to know about the HRV

During the heating season I often feel foul air circulating especially in the mornings. Why?

Mostly because modern windows and doors keep the heat in and do not allow cold air to enter – it is their job.The greatest issue is, that the used-up air is trapped inside the premises and cannot replace itself.

Could airchange be achieved with airing the rooms?

It could be, but surely you can feel the sudden drop in the temperature, which once again needs time to heat up / reach the previous temparature. The heating system needs to be switched on and work on full power which is leading to energy loss.

Mould,- and mildewstains are decorating the kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Why do they occur?

The humid air in those rooms are condensed on colder surfaces, these wet circumstances favor the growth of molds.

Why is the HRV advantegous?

• It is a draft-free and economical way to let fresh air enter the house;
• prevents humidifaction, therefore walls -, where water vapor is often present – will not become molded.

Important!

1. The HRV systems in the common areas do not function as kitchen extractor fans. Their operation though can be harmonized with those fans.

2. Legislation states, where HRV system is installed, only a close combustion plant can be adapted (e.g. boiler, fireplace).
